From Soldier To Soldier

Crafty Yankee Raising Funds for Our Wounded Heroes

Crafty Yankee is proud to introduce From Soldier To Soldier, an awareness and fund-raising campaign in support of wounded veterans and their families.

The campaign is based on the sales of a designer version of the survival and friendship bracelets worn by many US and allied soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Each bracelet is $95, and for every one sold, $25 will be donated to Homes For Our Troops, a non-profit organization based in Taunton, MA, that provides homes at NO COST to support returning wounded veterans and their families. The bracelets are available in Black, Camouflage, Navy and Tan in the following sizes: 6.7", 7.1", 7.5", 7.9", 8.3", 8.7" and 9.1". Please add approximately 1/2" to wrist size for snug fit or 1" for loose fit.

The campaign is part of a national effort to raise significant funds for veterans' aid organizations and bring attention to the special needs of returning heroes.

"We are very pleased to partner with Crafty Yankee in support of this unifying cause," stated Niels Christiansen, CEO of LovelinksAmerica, the Massachusetts company behind the national campaign. "From Soldier To Soldier is neither pro nor anti war. It is pro our young men and women who put their lives on the line for our country and made horrific sacrifices. It is about the survival, friendship and commitment, symbolized by these bracelets."

The bracelets in the field are braided by the soldiers with parachute cord. They are known as survival bracelets, because they can be unraveled and the paracord can be used for many purposes in a pinch. They are also exchanged among the soldiers as friendship bracelets. Often a uniform button is sewn on and used as the clasp.

The designer version has a sterling silver clasp shaped like a uniform button and is extremely tightly braided. Sterling silver and gold plated sterling silver heart clasps are also available. Bracelets priced at $95.

The button clasp symbolizes the uniform. The clasped bracelet symbolizes the bond among the soldiers that can never be broken. To some, each knot in the bracelet symbolizes a fallen hero or a buddy from your company.
